The $60 million, 203-room Tribeca Grand Hotel New York opened in 2000 just two blocks south of its sister property, the SoHo Grand Hotel. The Tribeca district (the TRIangle BElow CAnal street) is being transformed as rents in the Village and SoHo continue to soar and artists are forced to look further south. Home to a variety of restaurants and financial institutions, the hotel's 98-seat Grand Screen provides a technologically advanced screening room for the area's thriving independent film companies. The Tribeca Grand Hotel is the first major hotel to open in the Tribeca area. The Tribeca Grand Hotel is located on Two Avenues of Americas (on the corner of Church, Walker and White). The hotel is within walking distance to the surrounding neighborhoods of SoHo, Chinatown and Little Italy.
